Pray daily for pastors in the Slavic countries (as well as your own) that they will have wisdom and power from God to preach the Word effectually and to care for all of the saints. Pray that the convicting power of the Holy Spirit will accompany the preaching of God’s Word throughout all lands. Ask God to stir up Christians to use their God-given freedom to the fullest advantage in making known everywhere the Gospel of Jesus Christ. “Freely ye have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8). |
With the COVID-19 pandemic impacting everyday life, Slavic Missionary Service is so grateful for how each supporter has continued to faithfully support our outreaches. SMS understands that many of you have been affected physically and financially during this season of time, yet you have stayed the course and given of your resources sacrificially. SMS wishes you and your family (and church) the peace and the hope that only the Lord can provide during these unprecedented times!
The restrictions on travel because of the pandemic have brought a new set of challenges to SMS, yet God has provided ways to continue to assist the missionaries overseas. As we adapt to these unparalleled circumstances, SMS continues to trust the Lord to provide wisdom and direction. His work remains uninterrupted and fruitful! He is at work regardless, even if conditions may seem forlorn! Praise God!
My home church has been studying the book of Esther. The story of Esther is fascinating — especially as the story unfolds, revealing how God was at work behind the scenes. Esther is a story of encouragement and hope. Despite seemingly hopeless circumstances and the threat of annihilation of the Jewish race, God’s promise to save His people stood true. It’s a story that reminds believers of the Lord’s presence and sovereignty when circumstances seem out of control.
This study has been so pertinent for the times the world is facing. As God used Esther “for such a time as this” and was faithful then, so He is faithful now! And God has used you in His outreach through Slavic Missionary Service through faithful and prayerful support. Again, SMS says, “Thank you!” May the Lord bless you and continue to use you for His glory!
Just as in the past, praise God that He is working behind the scenes today — and wants to use each one of us like Esther — “for such a time as this” (Esther 4:14)!
