Pray daily for pastors in the Slavic countries (as well as your own) that they will have wisdom and power from God to preach the Word effectually and to care for all of the saints. Pray that the convicting power of the Holy Spirit will accompany the preaching of God’s Word throughout all lands. Ask God to stir up Christians to use their God-given freedom to the fullest advantage in making known everywhere the Gospel of Jesus Christ. “Freely ye have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8). |
Believers ought to pray for all who hold authority for one ultimate purpose: “that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and honesty” (1 Timothy 2:2). Is there quietness and tranquility in the world today? Look at the nations! Thousands struggle in turmoil; war threatens the welfare of humanity in many territories.
Through the apostle Paul, God reveals to us that influential “spirit” powers are operating in heavenly places behind human authorities. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12). Because these enemies attempt to advance evil intentions in the world, Christians dare not ignore their influence.
God commands every Christian to pray for their churches, their communities and their countries. Therefore, let us pray until we have shattered the sinister plans of Satan and his schemers. Until Christ returns for His church, Christians must devote themselves to defeating the devices of the devil through dynamic prayer. “And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen” (Romans 16:20).
