Through most conflicts, the innocent inadvertently become involved. They have little choice in the matter, and often times, suffer immensely. Slavic Missionary Service received heartwarming news from the relief efforts that are occurring in Western Ukraine concerning two harmless and helpless groups of children.
Because of the ongoing onslaught to large cities, many people have fled into Western Ukraine, including groups from two orphanages. One group included 15; the other included 18. They arrived at the sheltering church for two days. Accommodations included comfortable beds, three meals and hygiene kits. If other items were needed, the guardians could select any items from the helpful “hospitality” room.
When each group was ready to travel to the border, care packages were provided for the journey. This journey would take three to five hours, depending on the roads and the amount of vehicles. When arriving, the group still needed to wait in long lines of cars that crowded the custom control entrance into another country.
For available funds and reliable workers, SMS praises God. The effort of many Christians is inspiring and invaluable, for organizations from around the world have exerted much energies to assist in Humanitarian aid. Neighboring countries of Western Ukraine have opened their borders to house thousands of refugees. Other countries, as well, are endeavoring to assist.
