Slavic Missionary Service praises God for the privilege of cooperating with qualified Christian missionaries in the Volyn Oblast of Western Ukraine. Recently, Yaroslav Trots and his wife, Victoria, missionaries of SMS since 1996, were able to come to the United States to serve and report to churches on the progress of God's work in Ukraine.
Yaroslav was invited to a conference in Massachusetts, because two speakers who were invited from Slavic countries were not able to attend. After the conference the Trots were able to visit five other states for two weeks sharing the opportunities of outreach in Lutsk, Ukraine (their hometown) and the surrounding areas. Many families graciously opened their homes in Christian hospitality during the Trots’ visit.
Yaroslav is the senior pastor of the Central Church in Lutsk, as well as the pastoral regional superintendent of the Volyn Oblast. There are 120 churches which he oversees. Victoria continues to serve as one of the leaders of women’s ministries in this region. They have ten children. With all of their duties, Yaroslav and Victoria still find time to conduct a men’s Bible study and a women’s Bible study in their home on different days of the week.
SMS praises God for workers like Yaroslav Trots. He began his ministry with SMS many years ago, and now has become a spiritually mature and skilled servant for the Lord. He realizes that all his abilities and skills must be used "for the sake of the Gospel" (1 Cor. 9:23). Pray that God will continue to strengthen Yaroslav and Victoria to fulfill the ministries that He has appointed specifically for them. “Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching” (1 Timothy 5:17).
